NEW YEAR NEW YOU

Wednesday, January 1, 2014

2013 brought incredible blessings like buying and moving into our first home, watching Carson grow and celebrating his first birthday, putting a couple of semesters and summer sessions under my belt, and finally (maybe) starting to get the hang of this whole motherhood thing.

Carson at 3 months old in January when that adorable, contagious smile started making more and more appearances.

At 7 months old in May when he hadn't started putting up a fight yet when getting dressed.

At his 1st birthday party in October with his Auntie Kelly. Carson and I are both a little out of it, I had a stomach bug I wasn't quite over and he had just gotten his shots the day before, but we made it through the party!

And finally today when I was making him try on his new shoes since this little 14 month old is growing too fast to keep up with!

There are certain goals that I set for myself that weren’t accomplished, though. Those last 30 pounds, unfortunately, never magically disappeared, I have yet to secure an internship for this summer, and I am just now starting this blog. There are certainly worse things in life, but personally I like to challenge myself and feel slightly disappointed when I don’t reach those goals. So this year I am vowing to be different.

  •         Those last 30 pounds WILL be gone because, most importantly, I need to be in front of the camera with my baby boy more instead of always being behind it.
  •         I will be more open minded and positive instead of letting the fear of rejection or failure get in the way of what I want to do.
  •        Lastly, I’m going to kick that interviews butt and get an internship gosh darn it. (And will then proceed to worry about getting a job after graduation in December)

The last thing I want is for this post to send negative, I truly am excited for all of the things 2014 will bring. I am going to stay positive and allow this year to throw whatever it may at me. So tell me, what are your New Year’s resolutions?
